Monument du débarquement de Provence

This granite monument, representing the Freedom, is dedicated to the allied armies having participated in the landing of Provence in August 1944. Two high rectangular columns are united in their bottoms by a relief decorated with a very stylized draped woman, her hair in the wind.

Originally constructed on another location, as a replacement of a first monument, it was finally moved during the construction of "the House of the Sea" and now faced it. It is the work of the architect G. Nadal...
