Fontaine Moussue, Cours Mirabeau, 13100 Aix-en-Provence
The hot fountain of Cours Mirabeau, renamed the Mossy Fountain, was the first one built on the Cours in 1667. Its water is at 18°C.
No one can be certain, today, how the fountain is decorated. Only the moss-covered rock is visible inside the basin, which used to be fed with spa water.

This unique vegetation has built up over decades, like the present symbolically hiding the past with its charm and delicacy.

Botanists are attracted by the diversity of mosses and plants which have covered the fountain, today an integral part of Cours Mirabeau.
