







Founded by Augustus in 14 BC, Cemenelum was proclaimed the capital of Alpes Maritimae, an ancient Roman Province.
Preserve, study and transmit... The Archaeological Museum of Cimez was built to highlight the remarkable heritage resulting from the excavations of the ancient Roman city. The history of "Cemenelum" and the province of "Alpes Maritimae" is presented, as well as objects dating from the medieval period. The visit also includes the arena, the amphitheater and the public baths.
