The [mac] museum of contemporary art in Marseille welcomes back the people of Marseille after four years of work and a remarkable renovation campaign.
With almost 800 works of art. The Mac collection gives an account of most of the production of the second half of the twentieth century and the begginning of the twenty first. It is made up of works of art of high quality.Whether it those of the New realists support surface, Arte povera, Land Art or the Fluxbus movement.

The MAC in Marseille exhibits the work of the New Realists who, in a manifesto published in 1960, affirmed their desire to make modern materials (new materials, objects of consumer society, posters, etc.) their raw material. The exhibition includes works by Yves Klein, Arman, César, Christo, Niki de Saint Phalle, etc. A visit to the Mac is also an opportunity to contemplate the work of American artists: the underground prodigy Jean-Michel Basquiat, the performer Chris Burden and the visual artist Robert Rauschenberg. Opening in 2021.
