Musée des Docks Romains

The very vocation of the city as a transit port is revealed through the large storage vases or Dolia preserved in Situ which bear witness to an important big trade in the city. Museum houses the result of underwater archaelogical research by presenting several objects from the wrecks of ships that sank off the coast of Marseille.Amphorae, fittings and everyday objects one all evidence that we need to better understand life on board ship and its constraints under the Jules Verne and Bargemon squares, other warehouses, quays, wharves, boats and bath have been discovered, contemporary with the docks still in place.
