Created in 1909, now an accredited Musée de France, the tapestry museum is housed on the 1st floor of the former Archbishop's Palace, in the staterooms.

The Tapestry Museum has been housed in the former Archbishop's Palace since 1909. This sumptuous setting in the heart of old Aix brings together beautiful pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries in its salons, while the courtyard has become an emblematic stage for the city.
Thus, thanks to its reputation associated with the famous Festival of Lyric Art, the Tapestry Museum has naturally developed a "performing arts" section combining textile and contemporary arts.
