Château de l'Emperi, Montée Du Puech, 13300 Salon-de-Provence
Perched on the rock of Puech overlooking the town of Salon, the medieval fortress of the Empéri was residence of the archbishops of Arles 9th to 18th centuries.
The Château de l'Empéri is one of the oldest medieval fortresses of Provence. A case of choice for the collections Raoul and Jean Brunond which cover the history of the French army of Louis XIV to the 1st world war. This unique and well-documented collection is the subject of a fascinating exhibition.
The monument also houses the works of the painter Théodore Jourdan, a beautiful invitation to explore the landscapes of Provence.
