Here, under the azure skies of Saint-Raphaël, lie the bodies of 464 French soldiers who fell during the military operations of the Provence landings. Of different faiths, origins and ages, they all paid with their lives to liberate France during the violent battles that took place from August 16 to 28, 1944.
Buried on the battlefield, their remains were brought together here 20 years later to pay tribute to them and perpetuate the memory of their sacrifice.
