Palace of the counts Lascaris-Ventimiglia built between the XV and the XVI century.
Acquired and renovated in a baroque style by the Town Hall in the 2000s, it hosts an exhibition dedicated to the Neolithic site of the Shelter of Pendimoun
This former 15th century palace was built on both sides of the “rue Longue” street, divided between “La Casa Grande” and palais “Turris” (in front), were the residence of the Lascaris family, counts of Ventimiglia. Among the illustrious figures from this lineage, Jean-Paul Lascaris, Grand Master of the Order of Malta, born in this place in 1560 (he died in Malta in 1657 and was buried in the Co-cathedral of St John in Valletta) as well as Jean-Baptiste Lascaris, who built the prestigious Lascaris Palace in Nice.
The building has undergone many modifications over the centuries. Renovate in Baroque style late seventeenth, it is decorated with a tower-porch with dome of polychrome tiles and lantern. Inside is preserved an alcove room of the eighteenth century. Property of the commander Arson in the early nineteenth century, the palace was acquired and restored by the Town Hall in the 2000s and hosts an exhibition on the Pendimoun Shelter. Included in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments.
