Among the historic private residences along the Promenade des Anglais, the Villa Masséna, which has become a museum of art and local history, can be identified by the garden that surrounds it.
Among the former private dwellings which stand along the Promenade des The Villa, or rather a palace in view of its size, was built by Victor Masséna, Duke of Rivoli and Prince of Essling, grandson of Nice's Marshall, André Masséna.
- Numerous sumptuous green spaces adorn the city of Nice. The Villa Masséna park is one of these preserved islands, a place of escape, calm and freshness in the heart of urban life.
Created in 1901 by renowned landscape architect Édouard André, this historic garden blends the rigor and symmetry of French inspiration with the wilder romanticism of the English style. Situated between the Negresco and the West End and facing the Promenade des Anglais, this little jewel is an emblematic place for strolling.
Spanning 8,000 m² and open to the public for over a century, the villa's garden is recognized for its heritage value. Renovated in the 2000s, it continues to be pampered by the city's gardeners to preserve its rich landscaping and biodiversity.
