Faced with the presence of invasive species, steep banks that prevented the development of suitable vegetation, poor river conditions and degraded ecological continuity, the aim of the new Huveaune park project was to revitalize the river and its biodiversity with the installation of 9,000 plants, reduce the risk of flooding, and enjoy new activities.
With its banks cleared and softened, and better-adapted species replanted, this new meander wraps around a magnificent ash tree, which has thus passed without moving from the left bank to the right bank of the river! Nearby, a maple transplanted during the works has adapted well. A Japanese walkway has been created, along with a platform and a superb staircase in Alpine wood. Further along, a playground and a magnificent shade area welcome strollers.
