Regional Natural Park of Luberon
At the crossroads of the climatic influences of the Alps and the Mediterranean, the Luberon mountain (1125 meters at Mourre Nègre), stretches from Villeneuve in Haute-Provence to Cavaillon (Vaucluse). The Park was created in 1977 and includes 77 municipalities on a territory of 185,000 hectares, 170,000 inhabitants. Its charter was revised in 2009 for twelve years, until 2021. It is home to an exceptionally diverse fauna and flora, as well as a very rich architectural and landscape heritage. It was admitted in 1997 in the world network of biosphere reserves of UNESCO.
