Place de l'horloge, 84200 Carpentras
Typical of the covered shopping streets built during the mid-19th century, the Passage Boyer, or 'glassed-in street' was built by the unemployed during the National Ateliers, after the 1848 revolution, and is now lined with chic shops. It stands in contrast to the shops and markets which are under the medieval arches on the rue des Halles. The weekly 'strolling visits' of Carpentras include the passage Boyer (from April to September).
