The path that runs along it was know in 1971 by the name of the street of the walls. There is a Chapel "Sainte Madeleine".
The Chapel was built in 1567, by the congregation of the Whites Penitent on the ruins of the old castle which was built by the viscount of Marseille in the XI century.
The penitent was assemblies of laics which has certain duty of devotion and charity. For example they have to bury the dead and take care of the sick. The Penitent gather regularly in their chapel
