The Retro Museum is entirely dedicated to the reproduction of scenes from everyday life in the past. This nostalgic world can be accessed via the entrance to the La Crau Ecomuseum.
André Avis is an enthusiastic collector. In 1987, in partnership with the Municipality, he decided to open a museum on the theme of old professions and tools.
The objective of this timeless place is to preserve and transmit the memory of the elders to adults and primarily to children.
Visitors can admire almost 25 scenes from everyday life in the past, all of them astonishingly realistic. They can discover the history of the iron, (the oldest dates back to the 18th century), school, cabinet-making, carpentry, blacksmithing and hat-making.
These living testimonies of our heritage provide a better understanding of Man's history and ingenuity.
André Avis organises guided visits for local school groups.
