Rue Louis Bussone, 83250 La Londe-les-Maures
The street is named after Louis Bussone, born on 30 July 1919 in La Londe.
Franc Tireur et Partisan Français (F.T.P.F). On 17 August 1944 at 3 p.m., when the arrival of the American and French soldiers who had landed on the Provençal coast was announced, after having defused the explosive charges under the Maravenne bridge and facilitated the arrival of the liberating troops, he tried to sabotage the firing device of the Pansard bridge that the German soldiers had installed to destroy it during their withdrawal.

Caught by an enemy patrol, he fled towards his home. Caught by the German soldiers in pursuit, he was arrested and walked through the village with his hands on his head as the villagers looked on. He was shot on 17 August 1944 at the age of 25 near the cooperative cellar by the head of the Kommandantur. The latter, taken prisoner by the African commandos during the assault on the Mauvanne blockhouses, was shot by the inhabitants of the village on the evening of 18 August.
