Ravaged in 1692 by a violent incursion from the Duke of Savoy's men, the Château de Lesdiguières now lies in ruins. It was once the proud home of the controversial Duc de Lesdigières, one of the most titled men in French history.
The impressive ruins of the Château de Lesdiguières are in Valgaudemar. A place of retreat for the famous Constable of France, the Duc de Lesdiguières, it is now undergoing renovation work. Permanent exhibitions in the small village of Lesdiguières open every day from 15 June to 31 October, open at weekends out of season.
