Saint Augustine: born in 354 in Tagaste (former province of Numidia, now in Algeria), died in 430 in Hippo (Algeria). His education was entirely focused on the Christian faith. "Struck by grace in Milan, he was baptised by Saint Ambrose. He is the theorist of the history of Christianity, the father of ecclesiastical Latin. He laid the foundations of Christian culture. He is considered a saint of faith.
He is invoked for eye diseases, patron saint of printers and theologians. He is depicted as a child trying to empty the sea with a shell: symbolic of the impossibility of understanding the mystery of the Holy Trinity. He is celebrated on 28 August
