In 1882, Godillot commissioned Pierre Chapoulart to build his own house. In fact, it involved the redevelopment of two existing villas and their transformation into a vast private mansion comprising the first floor with the outbuildings, the second floor with the grand salon, winter garden, dining room, kitchen and bedrooms, and the second floor with another apartment and billiard room, with a workshop in the attic.
