Parvis de l'église Saint Pierre, Allée du cimetière, 83630 Bauduen
This square-shaped oratory is made of squared and seated rubble joined with mortar. It has a rectangular niche, framed by monolithic pedestals and lintels.
The niche, closed by an ironwork grille, houses the bust of Saint Lambert. It is covered by four slabs forming a two-level roof. A marble plaque fixed above the niche bears the inscription "Saint Lambert, son and protector of Bauduen".
The oratory existed before the construction of the Sainte-Croix dam. It would have been located before the construction on a dirt road below the Fontaine-l'évêque road or in the Bounas (Les Serres) district on the Font Castellan road.
In 1975 the oratory was rebuilt when the dam was flooded.
This oratory is dedicated to Saint
Lambert "son and protector of Bauduen". The wooden statue, protected by a barred grille, was a gift from Miss Griesheimer from Darmstadt.
She is the patron saint of Bauduen. He was born there in 1084, and was bishop of Vence. A 17th century reliquary is in the church. (PNRV)
