VC de Saint-Roch et Villelongue, 13210 Saint-Rémy-de-Provence
The Chapelle Saint Roch on the outskirts of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the Jardins district, welcomes you for celebrations or on request.
When the plague struck in 1721, there was virtually no place left for Saint Roch to worship. It was then that the inhabitants of the Jardins district ‘borrowed’ a statue of Saint Roch from those of the Grès district and built a chapel for him on the current site.

The residents of Les Jardins regularly elect the priors and prioresses of the ‘Confrérie de Saint Roch’ and are responsible for its upkeep. A major restoration programme was undertaken several years ago, with the help of the local council, the Conseil Général and the Conseil Régional.

The chapel can accommodate between 250 and 300 people.

Two feasts are regularly celebrated in the chapel: 1 May, the anniversary of its consecration (1 May 1723), and 16 August, the feast of Saint Roch.
