Oratory of Saint Theresa of the Child Jesus
Saint Therese of the Child Jesus: Therese Martin was born in January 1873 in Alençon and died in September 1897 at the age of 24, suffering from tuberculosis. It took only 24 years for Thérèse Martin to become "the greatest saint of modern times". At the age of 15, she became a Carmelite nun and discovered the profound meaning of her vocation. "In the heart of the Church, my Mother, I will be Love. She lived her "way of trust and love" even in the smallest things. Beatified in April 1925 by Pius XI, she was canonized in May 1925 by the same Pope. It is celebrated on October 1st.
