The town of Hyères boasts a remarkable botanical heritage, as few other towns can boast such a wealth of botanical treasures. The Parc du Castel Sainte-Claire, or Parc Sainte-Claire, is one of the town's 3 large public gardens. Once the private property of American novelist Edith Warthon, it is now open to the public for exhibitions. You don't need to be a botany buff to appreciate the beauty of the many rare subtropical species for which it is renowned. Connected to the Parc Saint-Bernard by a footpath, it is also located on the heights of the city. A visit to both sites offers superb panoramic views and an unforgettable experience of nature.
