Le village, 84570 Méthamis
Overlooking the perched village of Méthamis the church Saint Pierre and Saint Paul built in the tenth century, contains the Virgin Mary in wood covered of gold.
The building is heterogeneous. It has a Romanesque nave with a broken barrel vault on doubleaux. The vaulted choir is decorated with capitals sculpted in the Romanesque tradition (doves, human heads, leafy hooks...).
The side chapels were enlarged in the 19th century to link them together.
Access is via a four-level monumental staircase with two ascents.
