The Sentinel at Authon is a land-art installation which is part of the Refuge d'Art Project (Land-Art Installation Project) which consists of a 150km route or itinerary through the Haute-Provence Geopark, created by Andy Goldsworthy, a British artist and a major figure of Land-art.
The walking-route links The Sentinels at Authon, Barles and Tartonne and is dotted with deserted rural buildings restored by incorporating an original land-art creation inspired by the place and surroundings. The Sentinel at Barles was the first piece of this land-art masterpiece in 1999.
The gorge at La Clue is home to a work of land-art installation titled, "The Garden Without a Gardener", by Herman de Vries.
