This site, classified as a Historic Monument, offers a natural heritage, archaeological remains and remarkable viewpoints.
This former quarry, located on the "Mont des Justiciers", is a place that has marked the minds and the different periods of history. The travelers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries thus imagined that it was an old abandoned roman city, whereas at the end of the 1850s, it is put back into operation and will remain so until after the Second World War thus providing in stone of La Turbie the neighboring municipalities for the construction of many structures.

Placed near the Via Julia Augusta, the quarry presents traces of ancient extractions still visible today such as column drums or abandoned stone blocks. It is undoubtedly one of the quarries that fueled the construction site of the Auguste's Trophy of La Turbie.

Similarly, this same type of stone use can be found in the construction of structures and elements related to the track. Thus, the 603 military bollard, found next to the chapel of Saint-Roch in La Turbie and now displayed on the Trophy's site, as well as the 604 bollard, discovered near the Roman fountain on the current road to Fontvieille, both are carved from stone from the quarry.

The Romans also used this stone for funerary steles found along the track near the Trophy. These were often graves of soldiers of the time of Augustus who insisted on being buried as close as possible to the monument and their general in chief.
