Perched on a limestone ridge since the 12th century, Blauvac offers beautiful views of the Mont Ventoux to the north and the Monts de Vaucluse to the south. A Celto-Ligurian oppidum on the hillside bears witness to ancient human presence dating back beyond the Neolithic period.
An imposing 12th-century castle (privately owned), with round towers and an inner courtyard, overlooks the houses and the Saint Sebastian church (also 12th century).
Lower down the hill and built on the site of the ancient Celto-Ligurian oppidum, is the Notre Dame des Neiges chapel. It was originally called Notre Dame de Blaise but was renamed after an unexpected snowfall in August. Each year a pilgrimage is held to celebrate the unusual event.
On the way to Méthamis, the Notre Dame de Bon Secours Abbey hosts temporary exhibitions and has a monastic shop offering a wide range of artisanal products.
Cereals, olives, Muscat du Ventoux table grapes (AOC) and AOP Ventoux wines are produced on the surrounding agricultural land.
