A visit to La Thomassine is an instructive stroll. You are guided to discover the wonders of this extraordinary site which gives pride of place to the plants that we taste. Before thrilling your senses, the permanent exhibition of the bastide invites you to understand the process of domestication of fruits and the age-old work of men and women to select and multiply the fruits best suited to the region from wild plants. But this is only to better encourage you to see the result for yourself!
Outside the bastide, the fountain is the result of an original water collection network (water mines) in this Provence where water is often lacking. Then you set off to discover a set of terraced gardens... Before reaching the orchards and their around 400 varieties of fruit trees. Apple trees, pear trees, olive trees, almond trees, peach trees, plum trees, fig trees, welcome you for a discovery full of smells, flavors and colors.
A stroll for the senses in the heart of fruit collections invaluable to the memory of the inhabitants of this territory.
You can also enjoy a picnic area and buy products: fruits during the harvest period, and also apple juice and olive oil.

- La Thomassine is a place dedicated to the conservation of domestic biodiversity in order to support the transition to less polluting farming methods and healthier food. Cultivation methods are in line with Organic Farming standards, and research carried out on varieties in terms of natural resistance to disease means that treatments can be limited. In short, safeguarding old varieties means preparing for the future!
