Square erected in memory of Queen Victoria who stayed in Menton in 1882. A monument is located in the centre of a basin fed by water jets, consisting of a sculpted group in white marble and a bronze cartouche with the portrait of Queen Victoria.
The desire to create a monument commemorating Queen Victoria's stay in Menton in 1882 emerged in the British community at the beginning of the 20th century, in particular under the impetus of Sir Thomas Hanbury.
