The villa was built in 1913 by Joseph Morard and Marius Bonnat, architects in Grenoble.
For Villa André, the architects continued the suburban villa model with a picturesque style tinged with historicism. The square layout and complex roofs are still features appreciated by the owners. The mouldings draw on Gothic decorative motifs: ogee arches, scalloped details, and pointed arches above the dormer windows.
With its picturesque silhouette reminiscent of the troubadour style, Villa André contrasts with its neighbour, the Italianate Villa Le Chastel.
