The estate has belonged since 1999 to Mrs. Lily Safra, widow of the Lebanese banker Edmond Safra.
This prestigious estate was at first, from 1900, the property of Leopold II, King of the Belgians. Then, when King Albert I took possession of the estate, he allocated 9 hectares to serve as a convalescent home for Belgian soldiers wounded in the Great War.
