The villa was built in 1926 by architects L. and François Girard, sons of architect Francis Girard, for Alfred Favier, a partner in Las Fabricas de Mexico in Guadalajara.
Villa La Tapatia is the latest villa to adopt, in a 1930s architectural style, the large suburban residence concept proposed at the beginning of the century by Francis Girard.
The geometric Art Deco style is used for the interior décor elements, from the pink marble corner fireplace to the finishing touches such as the ironwork.
