Just a few kilometers from Vaison-la-Romaine, discover Buisson, perched on a hill overlooking the Aygues valley. Let yourself be seduced by the history and charm of this typically Provencal village.
To explore this charming village, let yourself be tempted by adventure as you turn off the road and enter this place steeped in history, where every corner echoes with echoes of the past.

This Templar stronghold, linked to the Commanderie de Roaix, invites you to stroll through its shady lanes, where the scents of yesteryear mingle with the fresh air.

The parish church, originally Romanesque, was known as Notre-Dame-del-Bois. Restored and modified several times, it still boasts a 12th-century bell-tower.

Take the time to relax on Place Verdun, in the heart of the village, near the magnificent fountain and its imposing wash-house.

Follow the path around the village and admire the stunning views over the Aygues valley.

Admire the village ramparts, built of Aygues pebbles and restored after the many battles that took place during the Wars of Religion. Take time to appreciate the charm of the belfry, with its wrought-iron clock and campanile.

Extend your exploration by taking one of the many hiking trails through the 165-hectare communal forest, a real invitation to discover the unspoilt natural environment.

And don't miss the Saint-Pierre and Notre-Dame-d'Argelier chapels on the outskirts of the village.

Buisson offers the authenticity of a Provencal village, where time seems to have stood still, the better to immerse yourself in its timeless charm.

DID YOU KNOW?
Buisson derives its name from the area's main tree species: pine, holm oak, broom and boxwood.

A VILLAGE SECRET
In the 16th century, during the Wars of Religion, Buisson was attacked several times and destroyed in 1588 by Protestants from Nyons. They invaded the village and stole the church bell, which was not returned until a hundred years later, after numerous lawsuits.
