Last high Alpine step before the Provence, the village of Le Poët is built on the river banks of the Durance.
On the hill above the agricultural plain, the heart of the village gathers old houses around St. Peter's Church that was restored in the early nineteenth century, and which is surmounted by a 12th century bell tower and a splendid contemporary sundial.

An artist has erected charming sculptured fountains. From the Tower, you will discover a viewpoint indicator with a fantastic point of view.

The famous Napoléon Road crosses the village : you can see in front of the church a commemorative plaque and a small bench reminding that Napoleon stopped here.
