After 15 years on the Place Louis Blanc, the emblematic fountain is back on the Place Raspail.
For 70 years, with its feet in a goldfish pond, the Wallace fountain has occupied the same spot in the heart of the Halles Municipales. It has seen generations of shopkeepers and Toulon residents come and go.
The only Wallace fountain in our beautiful city of Toulon, these typical cast-iron fountains owe their name to Sir Richard Wallace, a British philanthropist and lover of France, who financed their construction from 1872 onwards. Today, there are 230 of these fountains in every corner of the country, including 120 in Paris alone.
