The wash house was built after the Second World War (1951) under the leadership of Georges Durando and the members of the city’s council.
This wash house is located in the square “place du Docteur Angot”. Raymond Angot was an obstetrician who was loved and respected by the inhabitants.
During the Second World War he was heroically involved in the fight against the occupying forces.
He was a member of the Resistance, a spy officer and a doctor in the maquis. Dr Angot was awarded the Resistance medal and the Croix de Guerre 1939-1945.
