Discover the amazing history of Mont-Dauphin and the defensive system designed by Vauban. Underground, arsenal and powder magazine will reveal their treasures. Mont-Dauphin is a fortified village listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Vauban's fortifications.
Throughout the year, the team takes you on a tour of this mountain stronghold.
The tour includes outdoor stops (ditches, fortifications) and visits to the interior of the old military buildings (lunette d'Arçon and its underground, arsenal, powder magazine, the roof of the Rochambeau barracks).
Unusual elements of Mont-Dauphin can be discovered during these guided tours such as the underground of the lunette d'Arçon, 113 meters long, which allowed the soldiers to discreetly reach this...
