A model in the permanent collections shows the famous Roman ship bridge built over the Rhône, linked to the city's port and economic activity.
“...You are cut off by the rushing course of the Rhône, in the middle of which a bridge of boats forms a square where you receive the goods of the Roman world. You do not hold it back, and you enrich the other peoples and cities of Gaul and the vast bosom of Aquitaine”, wrote Strabo.
