Arena located in the centre of Mouriès
The Mouriès Bullring, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, is an iconic venue for Provençal bullfighting tradition.
Built in 1926, it was inaugurated in 1927 in the presence of Marquis Folco de Baroncelli.
In 1997, it was renamed the André Blanc Bullring in honour of André Blanc, mayor of Mouriès from 1953 to 1971 and a passionate fan of Camargue racing.
These arenas, typical of the regional architecture, have a distinctive feature in that they are horseshoe-shaped, making them one of the most renowned in Provence. They thus perpetuate a cultural tradition deeply rooted in the region and bear witness to the history and passion of the inhabitants of Mouriès for Camargue racing.
The Club Taurin Mouriésen, founded in 1912, organises Camargue races and other bullfighting events there throughout the year.
The bullring also serves as a venue for various festivals organised by the town or local associations.
It is possible to visit it on an exceptional basis for groups, upon prior request to the Club Taurin and subject to availability.
