At the end of the Bricorama car park in Briançon, take the path that goes up along the river to the intersection with the route du Chabas (1 km away). Follow the road to the left downhill. Leave the bridge to continue straight along the road under the pines until a hairpin bend (Pont du Martinet). Leave the road to take the path along the river towards Pont Carles by the "Guisane" path. Cross the bridge over the Torrent du Verdarel to take the "Carles" bridge over the Guisane and go on the right bank.
Take the "Preys" or "Moules" path which goes up the river. 800m further on, go straight on leaving the Outre road on your left. 400m further on, you will find a salutary bench in the shade.
If you are curious, 20 m further on, towards the first house, a small path climbs to the left for 50 m to show you a hemp retting basin (used in the past to make ropes).
Continue on your way to discover the back of Chantemerle (so called because it is not on the adret (side exposed to the sun or "endroit") but on the ubac (which is called the "envers" by opposition). At the bridge you have arrived. Return by the same path.
