The Pays d'Aix Talking Library is aimed at people unable to read (visual impairment, motor impairment, tremors, ataxia, dystonia, dyslexia and other cognitive disorders) and offers the free loan with free postage of talking books and magazines recorded in MP3 format on a CD, USB key, SD card and for downloading.
It is run by the Association des Donneurs de Voix, a French charity created in 1972 on the initiative of the Lions Clubs of France. The association currently has 114 libraries across France managed by volunteers.
The Pays d'Aix Talking Library is run by a team of volunteers who give up their time to ensure a weekly opening on its premises, and to record new titles (potentially upon request).
