Climbing site in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence - Mont Gaussier - Babou

Babou at Mont Gaussier in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence has five climbing routes. 1. Lierre - COT: 7a+ 2. Babou's Birthday - COT: 7c+ 3. Walking on the Edge 8a 4. Falaise Addict 5. Le Bide The routes range in difficulty from 7a+ to 8a. There are several roadside car parks on the D5 towards Maussane-les-Alpilles. The ‘Escalade dans les Alpilles’ guidebook is available from Alpilles en Provence Tourist Offices (subject to availability). In summer, forest areas are more prone to fire. To protect walkers and sites, access to the Bouches-du-Rhône mountains, including the Alpilles, is regulated from 1 June to 30 September. The danger levels are determined daily for each forest area.
