South-facingand at an altitude of only 600m, Baume Rousse is the warmest crag in the Buëch, meaning it has advantages in winter and of course drawbacks in summer.
The climbing is varied, on pleasant steeps or overhanging walls of ochre and grey-blue limestone. The top part of this area is the most interesting. The verticality and the samll holds mean that good finger streght is needed so remember to warm up.
