Up until the 20th century, farms and shepherds shared this site. Today, all that remains are uncultivated orchards and a little dry stone heritage: low stone walls known as "restanques", a sheep pen, shepherds' huts, cisterns...
Le Paty is an artificial reservoir, completed in 1766, and one of Vaucluse's man-made water sources.
Between the Comtat Venaissin, the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Mont Ventoux, it offers exceptional views.
The site has a variety of uses - pasture land, fishing, relaxation and walking.
It's also a refuge for birds and small mammals which come here to drink.
Benches and picnic tables are dotted around the site, which is also equipped with trails to discover the area's natural and rural heritage.
"When visiting a Protected Natural Site, please take necessary measures and behave appropriately: don't remove species, don't pick flowers, pick up your litter, keep quiet so as not to disturb the wildlife, and remain on marked paths."
