It's in the midst of this unspoilt environment that Dragonfly Aviation offers you a unique adventure, flying over and discovering this marvellous lake on board a seaplane.
Flying in the Southern Alps means you're sure to benefit from optimal aerological conditions, and there are few days when the blue of the sky doesn't merge with that of the water.
So there's nothing better than taking off gently from this calm water and discovering new sensations as the turquoise colour of the lake is revealed after a few seconds of ascent, then La Baie Saint Michel and its chapel, the Savines le Lac bridge, the secret canyons of the Ubaye valley, the Chanteloube dam and viaduct flash before your eyes.
The flight around the lake takes 20 minutes. Two complementary circuits of 30 and 45 minutes allow you to extend the previous circuit and fly over the surrounding peaks: the Aiguilles de Chabrières and the Réallon resort, as well as the Pic du Morgon.
All offer unrivalled views of Serre Ponçon and are accessible to all.
The final landing, though impressive, is often surprisingly gentle, and you're back on dry land with memories in your eyes.
Departures are from the Baie Saint Michel from May to July, and from the Forestons hydrobase from early July.
The flight training centre also welcomes student hydro pilots from May to October.
