Created like the other Fracs, the Frac Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur spent thirty years in the heart of the Panier district, in the shadow of the Vieille Charité, before moving to a new building in March 2013 in the Joliette district.
With a collection of more than 1000 works of contemporary art enriched each year since 1983, the FRAC defines itself as a laboratory of artistic experimentation. Paintings, photographs, videos, sculptures, installations, drawings... The program is part of a questioning of our society through exhibitions and meetings. It allows a democratized access to contemporary art: here, mediators accompany visitors and create a dialogue around the works.
