Galerie du tableau is Marseille's oldest active gallery, founded on December 17, 1990 by Bernard Plasse and the Diem Perdidi association, which organizes its programming. Vernissages every 15 days (Mondays)
Gallery openings take place on Mondays from 6pm to 9pm, every
every 15 days.
The Galerie du tableau has enabled thousands of artists to express themselves, experiment and meet their peers and a network of enthusiasts in Marseille, France and around the world.
Through its form, its malleability and the mischievousness of its creator, it has opened up fields of exploration between practices, places, concepts and fields of knowledge. It has enabled artists to travel to the USA, Germany, Belgium and China, among other countries.
Numerous artists have taken their first public steps at 37 rue Sylvabelle in Marseille, before going on to international careers.
Galerie du tableau has been at the origin of many other institutions in Marseille, such as Triangle, the P.A.C. network, etc... The gallery strives to avoid dogmatism, the chapels of contemporary art, outrageous individualism and the excessive excesses of professionalization in the art world. La galerie du tableau favours disinterested cooperation, as its founder's dedication to creation testifies. Galerie du tableau is associated with the Cabane Georgina and Jeune Création associations.
