Located near Vinon-sur-Verdon, these four old gravel pits in the major bed of the Durance offer an exceptional natural setting for fishing enthusiasts and nature lovers. These bodies of water, with their constant water level and easy access, are ideal destinations for various outdoor activities.
Gravel 1
Area: 7.3 hectares
Accessibility: The most accessible, located on the edge of the driveway.
Characteristics: Presence of a dense reed bed along the banks. Shallow waters.
Activities: Predator fishing and whaling. Species present: gardons, perch, pike.
Gravière 2 (Our Lady of the Tousques)
Area: 3.7 hectares
Accessibility: Served by the carriageable track, but access to the water’s edge complicated by the slope of the banks.
Characteristics: Shallow on most of its area. Work in progress.
Activities: Spring and fall rainbow trout fishing. Presence of rotengles. "No-kill Trout" route in effect during the first category trout closure. Fishing limited to one line per fisherman.
Gravel 3
Area: 5.6 hectares
Characteristics: Direct border with the Durance, communication with the river during flood. Liming and fast filling by fine sediments.
Activities: Adapted to carp life. Currently clogged following a flood in 2020.
Gravel 4
Area: 6.5 hectares
Characteristics: Direct border with the Durance, wild profile. Roselière developed on the entire perimeter, offering an interesting habitat for wildlife.
Activities: Fishing for predators (pike, perch, black bass). Presence of roach. Few positions available.
