The AAPPMA du Bas Verdon, in partnership with the Federation of Fisheries of 1983, works for the protection and sustainable management of local fish resources. Since 2010, we have launched an initiative to preserve the stock of fario trout.
Fario Trout Protection Measures
Capture size: Increased from 23 cm to 30 cm since 2018, by inter-prefectural decree, to promote reproduction.
Number of catches: Reduced from ten trout per day to a single fario trout since 2023, validated by prefectural decree.
Course "Without Killing" (No Kill)
Historical route: Since 2014, a 3.4 km route from the Verdon campsite in Gréoux-les-Bains to the Esparron dam.
New course: Since 2023, a new course of 2,820 meters, from the bridge of Vinon-sur-Verdon to the fuse dam.
