Class V - VI
World-renowned for its white water, this section is an unforgettable experience.
This is the most technical and challenging of all the routes in the valley, but also the best known.
Some consider it to be an initiation into the world of whitewater sports. After the village of Le Lauzet, the water seems to calm down and rest before unleashing its full power.
A waterfall, like a crystalline curtain, is the starting signal. Once you've entered the gorge, there's no turning back; you have to descend to the lake, via the famous ‘Fosse aux Lions’.
The first rapid is particularly dangerous, and only the most experienced can get through it. The others will have to use the cordelle technique to get their boat through.
After 5 km of eddies, jolts and turbulence, the adventure ends in the calm, deep waters of lake Serre-Ponçon. What a ride!
